Management areas and issues based on the Norfolk AONB

The landscape, in its broadest sense, is the basis of AONB designation. How the place looks and how it is perceived by people, using all their senses including their emotional response, is of crucial importance in determining the management objectives. Landscapes are dynamic. The challenge is to recognise and act to conserve the essential character of the area. This is achieved by setting the framework of the strategic management plan in the context of the main areas and issues that affect landscape character and determine the effectiveness of management operations.
